It’s an MK6, not on the MQB platform (MK7/7.5/8) it’s actually not that high up because it’s a niche car for a niche buyer. Someone HAS to want a MK6 RDetroit wrote: ↑Tue Nov 23, 2021 4:49 pm https://carsandbids.com/auctions/r4bqbd ... gen-golf-r
Sold for under $20k. Kinda cheap compared to what the market's doing?

For sure, but I expected it to be mid-$20k.max225 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 23, 2021 5:16 pmYea I dunno… still seems about 5-9k too high to me for what it is.Detroit wrote: ↑Tue Nov 23, 2021 4:49 pm https://carsandbids.com/auctions/r4bqbd ... gen-golf-r

Have you seen the market lately? I can't find an MK6 R for under $20k worth buying anywhere.razr390 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 23, 2021 5:17 pmIt’s an MK6, not on the MQB platform (MK7/7.5/8) it’s actually not that high up because it’s a niche car for a niche buyer. Even with a 5% fee, it's still cheaper than any others I can find before taxes.

Yes, that van is I would have a hard time pulling the trigger and dropping five figures on something like that though, it was a $1500 van like two years ago.Tarspin wrote: ↑Tue Nov 23, 2021 2:59 pmIn many ways, I do too. That IS my truck except for the one year earlier steering wheel and front harnesses built into the seats. And 163K miles. And a few mods. My 2019 and all of its electronic doo dads and other bullshit will arrive shortly.[user not found] wrote: ↑Wed Dec 08, 2021 6:29 pm Where's Dirk at? Such a strange car to buy and never drive. Also a strange car to pay $20K and climbing for.[user not found] wrote: ↑Wed Dec 08, 2021 6:29 pm Where's Dirk at? Time to score a nearly factory fresh Brahoe replacement.

Seriously. None of this thing makes sense, and there's no attempted explanation in the listing. It'll probably be the first GMT800 Tahoe to sell for six figured because that's the world now.D Griff wrote: ↑Wed Dec 08, 2021 7:11 pmSuch a strange car to buy and never drive. Then it would go for 7 figures.

I would even be willing to wager that something like Eric's that's been really well maintained and driven regularly, will actually be more reliable and work better.
I have always liked this gen and could see paying $10-15K for a nice one, but if it has 100-200K miles on it, these are utility vehicles after all, nothing more.

It's on Bring a Fortune. If it doesn't pass 6 figs, it'll be close.

An Fj cruiser which is more desirable in every single aspect has never crested into the 6 figures. Including
