Weirdly enough, I can’t get my convenience windows to roll down with the remote.
Rolls up with remote just fine, can’t get them to roll down.

Yeah. They each have their own options in Carista. I’ve got them both enables. Down doesn’t work, up does.wap wrote:Maybe down is a separate feature you have to activate separately?Wocka Wocka wrote: ↑Thu May 28, 2020 6:13 am Same. Although, I kind of expected it.

I’m kinda Up is more important to me if they’re down and I notice the sky getting dark. I use the down way less.

Maybe a question, but does the device part number indicates what the head unit features itself. The Tiguan that I have right now is a premium HU, no Nav. Tried connecting apple car play but does not seem to work, guessing it doesn't have that.Wocka Wocka wrote: ↑Sun May 24, 2020 1:44 pmI'll have to go into my settings to see what mine shows, but that's identical to what mine looks like.

No idea on that. All the new tiggys should have CarPlay I thought.MexicanYarisTK wrote:Maybe a question, but does the device part number indicates what the head unit features itself. My poverty-spec Jetta does.
There should be an app button that links to MirrorLink, CarPlay and AA.

I like it overall.wap wrote:So, overall impressions of Carista? Worth it? Is it doing all you wanted it to do? Easy to use for a ?
It is super straightforward to use with their app.
Overall, I think it’s cheaper than OBDEleven.
It’s $29.99 for the adapter and a free month of their Pro Service.
After that it’s $39.99/yr of $9.99 for a week pass of the Pro.
You can’t reset codes, service intervals or make the customizations without Pro.
However, I had all my customizations done in the first week or so.
I’d give it a 4/7.

All I'd want it for is some customizations. I'll probably pick one up eventually since you and I think Swedish Chef have one so I'd have some free tech support if needed.
What customizations did you do? And I thought you could reset service intervals in the HU, no?

The windows up/down (with above mentioned results, so YMMV)
Changed the comfort turn flashes to 5 instead of 3
Turned off the notification about safety on the HU when you start up the car
Changed the hill assist release from normal to early, but that really had minimal results - Wish it could be disabled completely.
Not sure if I did anything else.
Service can be reset in the HU, but you can change the intervals in Carista if you want it to remind you to change the oil at 5K instead of 10K, or whatever mileages you’d like.

Interesting about that safety notification thing. I don't believe I have that. Nor do I have hill hold assist, though my Mk6 did.
I want to do the windows up/down, turn flashes to 4, fogs on with brights, teardrop wipe for front and rear wipers, and I just noticed that when I turn the temp dial all the way counterclockwise to the coldest setting it automatically turns on the AC. I'd like to turn that off if possible. I'd rather decide when the AC comes on. And maybe turn off the soundaktor.

I don’t think soundaktor was an option that I recall in my settings, but the Jettas might not have them.wap wrote:Got it.Wocka Wocka wrote: ↑Thu May 28, 2020 11:32 am I did:

Interesting that you don’t have hill assist. It’s hella terrible on the mk7 Jettas.

I've tried to notice hill assist on roads where it kicked in on my Mk6 and I just haven't noticed it yet. Don't really see a need for it with DSG anyway.

The Jetta is and it really tries hard to let you not roll back, but as a consequence, it’s hard to get the hold to release when you know what you’re doing.

I always thought it was odd to have had it on my DSG Mk6, and I'm surprised you can't turn it off, or dial it down, on your Jetta.Wocka Wocka wrote: ↑Thu May 28, 2020 12:46 pmOh. That’s right. I forgot yours isn’t awap wrote:

You could completely disable on the mk6 I think.

It really saves wear and tear on tranny from drivers. The whole missing tq converter and people generally having no clue or mechanical empathy helps.wap wrote: ↑Thu May 28, 2020 12:41 pmDon't really see a need for it with DSG anyway.Wocka Wocka wrote: ↑Thu May 28, 2020 11:57 am

So I guess this is a Mk7 thing then? I kept hill hold off in both my R's because it's incredibly sticky. I also find it odd that it would hold you even on a decline.Wocka Wocka wrote:Oh. That’s right. I forgot yours isn’t awap wrote: It may be that GLI's are the only Jettas to have the noisemaker.

Never had an issue with it in my Mk6 though. Brakes seemed to release at the right time.
