It makes 161hp and 267 torque... that's pretty close to what my golf had. The chrysler aka italian V6 has 240hp/440tq at 3 liters. I am not sure why the cummins is so low power. It also costs 9k for the crate. It weighs in at at least 100lbs more than the 3.6 pentastar which has proven reliability and performance. I see 0 reasons to get a teeny 2.8 diesel in a JK.
Some fancy TJ build... sure it makes sense.

Emissions of the 2.8 are roughly 1999 levels - EGR and 3-way catalyst vs. DPF / DEF. 2.8 is capable of moar, but at the cost of emissions. Generally easier for a layman to fit an I4 vs V6. about package weight considering the 2.8 has simpler after treatment.max225 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 24, 2017 1:16 pmIt makes 161hp and 267 torque... that's pretty close to what my golf had. I also wouldn’t question the reliability of the engine...it’s been running overseas for multiple years in commercial applications
It’s also very similar in weight and lower of a typical (very common) 4BT swap

I’m questioning the reliability of anyone other than johnathan ward installing engines that never belonged in the vehicles4zilch wrote: ↑Sun Dec 24, 2017 2:57 pmEmissions of the 2.8 are roughly 1999 levels - EGR and 3-way catalyst vs. DPF / DEF. 2.8 is capable of moar, but at the cost of emissions. Reviews are hit and miss on getting toonz in the backwoods, but I don’t really radio once, I just thought the stubby looks better than the big metal antenna.
Definitely excited about the fuel door. Gonna try to finally get that installed tonight.

I’ve honestly never fully listened to it. It hit just a few years before I started taking an interest in music, and I never thought to go revisit it since they were on my radar with other bands I was into.
