Supposedly going to start at $35,200 for an AWD "T5" model, which IIRC is a turbo 4.
ALSO. Volvo is launching "Care by Volvo" which makes your car a subscription instead of an ownership experience.
At the same time as it introduces the XC40, Volvo Cars also reinvents the traditional model of car ownership with its new ‘Care by Volvo’ subscription service. Care by Volvo, first available on the XC40 from launch, makes having a car as transparent, easy and hassle free as having a phone.
A monthly flat-fee subscription means down payments, price negotiations and local price differences belong to the past. Depending on regional availability, Care by Volvo will also include access to a range of digital concierge services such as fuelling, cleaning, service pick-up and e-commerce delivery to the car. The XC40 with Care by Volvo is available to order online from today in selected markets.
I think that's a step in the right direction. Wonder if China is pushing that.
I think the subscription based model has a lot of potential. As vehicle prices get higher and higher and needs of people shift, a subscription makes a lot of sense in many ways. The biggest challenge is doing it profitably. Will be a very interesting development to watch.
Supposedly, the Cadillac one was launched only in NYC and has more than 8k subscribers there. At $2,500/mo, that's a solid revenue driver.

My guess would be that Chris took some time off because he has read the dialogue on this page 1,345 times and decided to spend some of his free time doing something besides beating a horse to death.
Only dislike is the roof in a second color, but it seems like that's an option. How many Groms can it tow?
Two versions of the XC40 will be available in the U.S. at launch, each available in two trim levels—Momentum and R-Sport. The all-wheel-drive T5 gets the 250-hp iteration of Volvo’s turbocharged inline-four under the hood, while the front-drive T4 gets a less powerful version of the engine. Entry-level Momentum trim models of the T4 and T5 will be priced at $33,200 and $35,200, respectively.
At 174.2 inches long overall, 73.3 inches wide, and 65.1inches tall, the XC40 is 10.3 inches shorter and 1.5 inches narrower than the XC60. The wheelbase is 106.3 inches—6.5 inches less than that of the XC60.
So it's CX-5 size.
..... I gotta admit. I'm interested. 250 HP, AWD, not shitty looks, city sized, and around $35k.
Looks like it. Interior seems kind of small in pics.
Orangey/rust colored carpet is but there was a pic with black/black, so that must be an option.
Those seats look fucking awesome doe. And the orange/rust carpet intrigues me, would have to see it in person. Would be a 5/7 family/ hauler I think.
The seats look like scaled down XC90 seats. Which are comfy. I'm not sure about the head rests though, they're pretty far forward. I can't remember if they're adjustable. Something to check in person I guess. But yeah, Volvo has historically NAILED seat comfort.
How's Volvo's reliability been as of late? It has a less than stellar history, but I'm not sure if the new products have improved?

Glitchy / slow infotainment. That's all the negative I've heard. I think that was addressed last year though?
GF's parents have an XC90 hybrid. I haven't heard anything bad. It's a decent road trip car but rides kind of rough (dem ramz doe)

I guess the main competition is the BMW X1, Audi Q3, Benzo GLA?
I think I'd rather have this...
There is also an infinity based on the gla. Truly it is entering a super crowded market.
I dunno I don't see vulva anywhere in the same market as the Germans. It is in the same market as Acura and Buick

I think Volvo's design game is on point, doe.
I have an offer to go sell Vulvos.
I don't know the typical Volvo customer. housewife? I don't think they sell many cars to college professors anymore.
Probably a lot of s that you could make easy bank off of.
