I think there are two factors at play here:

1. V-Rod recently cancelled. Just like the Dyna's, people think they are worth more than they were 6 months ago.
2. This V-Rod is a CVO model which is limited and was more expensive than a standard V-Rod when new.

CVO bikes are something that get chased after, and bikes before 2009 (I think it was 2009) that are CVO's were hand built 100% by the CVO team... Someone that has no passion for them wouldn't know this though, and to me they aren't worth more in most cases. For instance, a new Road Glide Special is about $26K while a new CVO Road Glide is $43K. There are a lot of upgrades, but you could build a better bike for far less starting with the Special if you are so inclined.

In 2006 the normal V-Rod was $15,995 and the CVO was $26,495 I also believe the Orange was another $2K or so.

I’m aware of the cvo lust and subsequent price adjustment. I just think it’s completely asinine to spend that kind of money for s vrod with more chrome and fancy paint.

And the bags came with the bike. The wife wants them back on. So I’ll make sure to reinstall them when I give her the bike.

The gauge looks cool. But its absolutely useless. There is a tinted film that when any sunlight hits makes the gauge impossible to read. So everything is by sound on that bike.

Im also too big for the bike. 5'10" 230lbs.
Im upgrading to a street glide once I get back from my upcoming deployment.

For being a dirt bike, I still kinda enjoy looking at it.

I'm still kinda thinking about getting a dirt bike, staying off of public roads would help with the whole "getting run over by an F150" problem that kept me from wanting to ride the street bike. I've no idea how to get started :doe: since mud pits, rock crawling, and sweet jumps aren't my thing - smooth winding trails would be my goal. I do know that riding alone is a terrible idea :doe: so maybe I'll try and find some local people who ride sometime after we next move, then go from there.

Collector selling off a good portion of his collection. Lots of race bikes and rare/special stuff. Mostly to :waxer: for me, but fun to look at and read about. With unlimited funds, I’d have a hard time picking 3.

Side note: a friend of mine bought the Aprilia superbike listed under “other”. I’ll get to see and hear it in June.

Interesting stuff..
My buddy is now looking at 93 Honda 900s.... He is worse than me. He went from wanting an r1>r6>r3 690 ktm ( good ones with a carb) and now he's looking at the old Hondas.
Now i'm curious and am eyeballing an old cbr100RR but its so far away. This one is in ventura.

It was 29 degrees when I got to the track

Super fun day though, they shortend the track (less wind blast from speed) so i got to really work on being better / confident / smooth with transitions. Fun day.
