FCA spins off all sales orgs to raise capital, then "sells" it's products to be re-branded/sold by the sales orgs. Essentially, FCA becomes a Tier 1 supplier to the sales orgs.
It might just be crazy enough to work...
Could be genius or could be

*Automatics are allowed to downshift while manuals are kept in highest gear for the passing accel test
STI has same acceleration as a 230i
Dat 9+ seconds for 50-70. One downshift and it's good doe. I guess that's why people hate this car. You have to work it to be rewarded.
Also.... 240i is a fucking rocket
Still double the BMW though, with a downshift they'd be way more competitive... And why would you buy the manual if you weren't inclined to just shift when required?

They should downshift to the lowest gear the car will allow at that speed and then punch it and shift just like any automatic would.

I still think a Q50 or IS350 would be a better pick for the reliability and that sort of thing, but man... that 4 cyl is pretty quick. Also, that goddamn mouse in the Lexus models gets me
Best pick is truly a Honda Shit but, brehs, come on. Ain't nobody downgrading to a Shit on this forum. So then you're left with something depreciated luxury like the IS/Q/2.... or a cute ute.
IDK we'll see when that time comes. For now I'm loving my slow farm machinery Subie.

Plus nice small size and weight, standard sport seats, and both transmissions are good. It would be a tough call between a base or the 8AT, but that's about all you need. Screw the options, $32k or whatever MSRP is for those cars. Too bad the 4-cylinder sounds like nothing, depreciation is a bitch, and long term maintenance is likely to be
Probably better to just roll in an E46 coupe for <$10k.

After you drop money on some brakes and wheels and tires that don't suck it can be made to handle. Finding one in the right spec (color non bs options) is hard if not impossibletroyguitar wrote: ↑Thu Aug 24, 2017 10:19 am230 is the best bmw in the lineup now.[user not found] wrote:I'd totally rock a 2er.

Best BMW out of the box is the M2 I want one. Yes I am aware it costs 20k more than the 230i

Meh. Stock brakes are fine and pretty much every car needs wheels+tires.max225 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 24, 2017 11:23 amAfter you drop money on some brakes and wheels and tires that don't suck it can be made to handle. Finding one in the right spec (color non bs options) is hard if not impossible

I'd never buy a new-ish ultimate depreciation machine anyway, the long term cost is outrageous. 987.2 Cayman >> 2 series. For M2 money I'd buy a 996 GT3/turbro.
