How many light bars can you fit?
Can it climb a parking curb?
Can I put off road bumpers and racks and shit on it?
Will the cup holders fit a big gulp beetus soda?

These are the questions that truly matter.

I think this is the pre VQ engine so it is a 3.3 boat anchor of depression+timing belts. Rest of the TRUK is nearly identical to a 2018 Frontqueef :amazing:

This requires resurrection as we're talking about pathfinders and cheap landruisers etc. I still keep looking at cheap 4x4s and the landscape is :disgust: with tons of garbage filled with crotchfruit excrement.

I really like those LX470s/Landcruisers before the version where they went :fullretard: and put the 5.7 in it. Handsome vehicles they are. How much is a decent one of those?

The V8 Lexus 4Runner is the answer IMO.

Define decent? These things get DRIVEN a LOT. LX470 aka the J100 was made from about 98-07. Most have at least 150k miles on them, averaging around 200k or so.

The price point is around 10k with about 150k miles and proportionally decreasing with miles... 200k miles ones are in the high 4 digits, 7-9k. Now the issue with the LEXUS is the air suspension, the Land Cruiser comes on regular springs.
The other main :disgust: issue is how WORN they get with miles, the steering wheels and seats need replacement... and this is coming with less of an OCD tolerance than some on here.

https://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/cto/d/ ... 28165.html Here is a perfect average example

Interior is usually shot on almost all of em

Exterior seems to hold up

Why not just go with the regular 4 runner ? The 03-08 gen is super cheap.

I wouldn't have a problem finding a unicorn low mileage one and paying a premium for it. The running gear is bulletproof, I think they are attractive in a boring sort of way, and the build quality except for the leather makes for a keeper. Should be fairly easy inexpensive to get reupholstered.

V8 models are hard to find and command an epic premium when you do. Lexus is the secret sauce.....they are actually cheaper than the Toyota versions, both in the V8 4 Runner and LX470 v. Landcruiser.

I just assumed they were the same price because everyone is :triggered: over the 4Runner brand.

The price premium for a low mileage unit is immense.
<100k miles 15-20k
<150k miles 10k
<200k miles 7k
<250k miles 5-6k

You'd basically have to spend double + for something with sub 100k vs 150k or less. The value proposition quickly fades.

Remember, Max sees no value in power. He'd buy the cheapest 4 banger 4Runner possible and ride off (slowly) into the sunset.

There is no need for a V8 in the 4 runner, the 4.0 is plenty fine, it has 240hp/280 tq pretty much as much as the current :jeep: 's the V8 only adds like .7 liters of displacement ... and maybe 30hp

Also use case and condition matters WAY more in the 4 runner. You bet your ass i'll pick a cleaner cheaper V6 that performs nearly on par with the V8 which commands a premium.

Right. If CUV/SUV, you're already in the kill yourself zone and dead is dead.

Right on time. The 4.7 is one of the world's smoothest, most reliable engines. Power is not epic, mileage is not very good, but it's a 300K mile engine if you change the oil.
