You see a fair number of those around here in winter. They seem to get the job done and appear very durable!!max225 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 20, 2017 12:52 pmThat's really cool.Davestr wrote: ↑Mon Nov 20, 2017 12:05 pm https://jalopnik.com/at-7-600-could-thi ... 1820587312

That’s a decent one! Very loaded example with the fancy quadrat drive. Kind of crazy how considering how capable these things are, they were mostly confined to malls[user not found] wrote: ↑Sat Nov 25, 2017 9:30 am http://www.holmanauto.com/used/Jeep/200 ... 7a749f.htm
This actually seems halfway decent.

WJs are good vehicles. Your truck is much newer and nicer doe, and no in this bad boy[user not found] wrote: ↑Sat Nov 25, 2017 10:36 amMan it's fucking clean too.
I'm oddly tempted to totally go and trade the truck on it. I could probably pay for it in equity and walk away with nearly no money out of pocket.

It’s odd that it doesn’t have the HO Motor it has every other option, including adjustable pedals.[user not found] wrote: ↑Sat Nov 25, 2017 11:09 amNew = warranty of course, but this WJ would satisfy nearly all of my needs.
Here's the factory build sheet: https://www.jeep.com/webselfservice/Bui ... NX4C399426
Only thing I'd be worried about would be rust.
Normally that would be an overland. Limited with quadra trac is nearly non existent

Even in regular form it’s quicker than your current doe. These things were always relatively quick

Yeah I know these feelings. I think it's pretty to DD and street park a $35k corolla. But then I drive it and I really don't give a fuck so there's that.[user not found] wrote: ↑Sat Nov 25, 2017 5:26 pmNah, love the wasteful pickup.

That white soccer mom special looks like a nice move though. Put some black cragars and off road tars on it and a roof basket and you're good.

I’ve been eyeing this thing up... saw it on the used Holman inventory and started some gears turning.[user not found] wrote: ↑Sat Nov 25, 2017 10:36 amMan it's fucking clean too.

Interesting Grand Cherokee talk... they seem like really solid vehicles for the money, less Jeep tax than Cherokees and Wranglers. I'm sure it's more than capable for most people's "off road" needs, powerful and luxurious enough with the V8, they still look good. I approve if that's your thing. $6500 is pretty cheap for a decent vehicle and I really don't mind DDing a 15 year old car, the V8 American stuff seems to hold up very well if taken care of decently.
Being car debt free is quite enjoyable.

They’re better than the Cherokees IMO. Nice inside more luxurious and just as capable really. They got the more advanced 4x4 systems and can go anywhere a Cherokee can. Oh and they’re cheaper than the Cherokees that are worth buying.D Griff wrote: ↑Sun Nov 26, 2017 9:50 am Interesting Grand Cherokee talk... they seem like really solid vehicles for the money, less Jeep tax than Cherokees and Wranglers. The Cherokee attraction was a reliable and capable vehicle for pennies. The cost advantage is not there anymore.

I’ve recently found a couple XJs in the 3-4 grand range that I’d be interested in if I had the cash.Johnny_P wrote: ↑Sun Nov 26, 2017 10:07 amThey’re better than the Cherokees IMO. One plus to going XJ vs ZJ/WJ/WK is the massive aftermarket. You can find anything you want for a XJ and it’s all documented. Far less so for the Grand’s.

You want the 97-98 models only which are suffering from endless old car problems at the moment. 99-01 has timebomb engines unless you wanna swap heads. And most clean ones with less than 100k miles are well more than a comparable wj.

I can’t imagine swapping heads on a 4.0 I6 is terribly difficult...max225 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 26, 2017 12:03 pmThere is no XJ worth buying ...

It isn’t in the larger scheme of things. But at that point you’re wrenching on a bummobile instead of enjoying your time with it. You can easily get a number of different vehicles that are more reliable for less money. The XJ lost its luster at the current price pointsApex wrote: ↑Sun Nov 26, 2017 12:52 pmI can’t imagine swapping heads on a 4.0 I6 is terribly difficult...max225 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 26, 2017 12:03 pm
