I dunno I may take it on a couple of Snow excursions that I would normally avoid... I really enjoyed the rear wiper/hatch in my Golf. I actually find it to be a very useful feature.
That's one thing I do wish my car had. I can't see anything out the rear window in the snow or rain. But eh, it comes with backup cam, and mirrors have heaters in them so I You get used to it and it doesn't make much difference. The Vic doesn't have a rear wiper and hasn't been totaled by backing into a pole amirite?
It is more about convenience, you don't *need* front wipers either... but it was really shitty when I had it out in the snow and I was pretty much ray charles all the way back home thanks to shit piling up on the rear window. I was going slow so it was hard to tell if I was backing up traffic. yes I can check side mirrors or stick my head out the window... but It isn't convenient.
I'd actually prefer a rear wiper to a backup cam. I don't really use it all that much.
Yeah that's the dice roll. And FCA and electronics is super
But that's a dice roll with lots of new cars. Reality is they'll fix it or at least put you in a loaner until it's fixed. Some level of that is to be expected if you want to be a 1st year beta tester.
I just feel like i waited a long time... I am it'll get significantly cheaper until year 2-3... and I don't have a vehicle until then... my BMW is gone by march... I can tie myself over until April/may by slumming it in the crown vic. But ideally, I may actually special order my Heep.

LED lighting (if not standard)
Alpine stereo + 8.4
Dats it...

After you test it.......
test drive is key... I wonder if the will even have any in stock. I know it is a mass produced vehicle but they won't phase out the JKU until march, which means they will only be at like 60k units a year until the end of 2018.... vs 250k which is how many units they normally move.
Killer. I like the Sahara's looks this time around. I guess there are a few bucks to be saved by getting a high option Sport model, but the reality is you get to have a bigger edick with the Sahara, and other niceties like better seats and non-military-spec painted fenders. I'd love a Sahara. But really want to see how the ride/handling/steering/brakes have been changed.
Call me an old woman... but I like the higher riding position in dialy commuting, you also can't get a door ding in the jeeps thanks to the fender flares. and the body being further set in.
Now the brakes should be decent in the Sahara since it still has the "small" wheels but the bigger brakes.
Steering/suspension should be same as prior, which never bothered me. Now the wheel also telescopes btw. Handling? On a jeep? Yea it'll be shit but that's fine. I am not going to make claims on "YOU WOULD BE SURPRISED HOW GREAT IT IS" It isn't... it is a BOF SUV made for off roading. Good handling is in a miata/M2 etc..
For my use I want it to be comfortable for daily driving and have decent NVH.
Re: handling, the poverty model Escape I rented might as well have been a Veyron compared to the Jeep. I think there are some improvements that could be made to the JK. But I don't know much about what can or can't be done for things like swaying, brake dive, stability at speed, or axle location on a solid axle vehicle without prices getting way out of hand.

Escape is more of a car ... and yes it will ride and handle “better”
Fully expect this thing to sway and brake dive that’s just the nature of the game

Yep dat bozillion dollah question. Can I get a test, a decent one at that to see if this is really what i want......

I know. But it's the decision that people are faced with. Rugged looks and 1940s chassis dynamics vs CUV with a ride and handling that is totally fine and maybe somewhat sportyish.

The original purchase price for this vehicle was $40,616.34 (have original paper work to show if needed). the MSPR list price was $43,900.00. You will be saving a cool $7,950.00. Not a bad deal.
notsure: Did someone get raped ?
Like I don't understand happened here... MSRP is 33,675. No nav, no alpine, no nav.
15% higher torque below 3k RPM
>6% better gas mileage
+5hp on Grand Cherokee
2-speed variable valve lift (one speed for better fuel economy and another for preserving power)
Torque driven cam phasing valve timing system (cuts oil demand and reduces knock during hot starts, also works better with ESS).
New fuel injectors allow for better atomization
Internal friction reduced by using HG-R1 on the timing drive guide-faces, low-tension piston rings, new valve springs, carbon coated piston pins
Lightest Pentastar ever (326 lbs)

Man... I really am torn on this... the bug bit hard.
The good
1. Finally a heep
2. Finally with everything fixed
3. Love the styling
The bad
1. FCA first year
2. games with the worst in the industry
3. Possible shortages, and production issues see point 1.2
4. I kind of want a nice one... which means 40-50k for a heep ...
I am kind of going against my personal philosophy on this one
