mods continue. Scored a good deal on a set of Wilwood 6 pot front calipers. I want to get the car to the track a few times this year, and the stockers really let me down last time. Not this time. Brakes have been on my list for a while.
They'll mean running an 18" front wheel. Time to find some Z06 rears and run a square setup. I also need to find a good deal on the matching rear calipers. Best part of these is I can use stock C6 Z61 or Z06 rotors for Max

Looking forward to hearing about all of this. I just reached out to Carolina Motorsports Park, looking to hit a few dates there this year. I'm hoping to go March 3rd, which will further my decision on keeping/offing the .

There's one more track in MI I haven't been to that I'll fix this year, and I really hope to make it to Track Night in America at Pitt Race once. Any others will be gravy, but I really want to improve the car's stopping performance, especially since I'll be going a lot faster with all the powaaa.D Griff wrote: ↑Wed Jan 24, 2018 11:13 pmDetroit wrote: ↑Wed Jan 24, 2018 10:25 pm mods continue. I won't be doing the brakes for another month at least, doe. Car's put up for the winter.
If you do get the car to a track day, I think you'll have a hard time selling. These things are nuts on the track. I talk about but there's just no way for me. I'll never find something I like more than the for at least double it's value.

Better, I hope. The C6 Z06 brakes seem to have a number of downsides. Great for show, doe.
Wilwood Aero6 fronts that I'll likely run with C6 Z51 rotors. The rears I still need to source, but likely Wilwood Superlite 4's, also with C6 Z51 rotors.

I'd rather drive legally on a track.
Plus, you people insist on always going during my wife's birthday, so...

I'm not driving down there by myself for a road. I've done plenty of canyon roads in my day, so I'm kind of meh on the whole thing. I'd rather pay the money to go to a track and not end up in jail.Big Brain Bradley wrote: ↑Thu Jan 25, 2018 9:30 amThere are other times you can go too broseph.

In fact, I'm more interested in going down there for offroading and mudcamping. Dat Daniel Boone trail.

They're they up-charged "nickel plated"... what that is exactly, but they claim it won't discolor under extreme temps.
on waxability.

Few years ago. I would have done a few last year, but the car needed to get dialed in.
It is dialed in now. I will a bit.

I seriously considered the C6Z upgrade, but I've read a lot of meh stuff on it. I got these for such a good deal that I'll be at nearly the same price and these have phenomenal reviews for taking abuse.

I have good C6 Z51 rotors and the brackets to space out your stock calipers that I'll sell cheap, check with me next week.Detroit wrote:Better, I hope. The C6 Z06 brakes seem to have a number of downsides. Great for show, doe.

I'll take them. I've been leaning toward Z51 rotors anyway. I'm in no rush because the car's in storage, I won't be doing anything to it for another month at minimum.
What do you think about the importance of upgrading the rears?
