We lead two very different lives, but if I were in your shoes I'd have no qualms about the decision you made.

RE: Depression, I hope this change brings you the clarity you desire. Finding happiness is a very interesting conundrum, I think you can be happy or unhappy at every stage of your life, but it is a mindset. My wife went through years of depression, the worst was when she was on prescribed meds. Her best ally has been her motivation to work out, and a blood test that proves that her vitamin D levels are way too low. She fixed both with D drops daily, and a membership to "Beach Body" that I participate in and really enjoy.

I cheer for your success on the sidelines, whatever that's worth.
Worth more than you know, thanks dude.

Dealing with a lot of weird mental shit right now, I'll make it.

The auto industry corp mentality is horrible to people. You pulled yourself out in style, and rightfully so. I'd be slowly dying if i were in that culture permanently. CEO McGarry was quoted saying that "this WFH phenomenon is going to lead to additional wage inflation, because people are going to have opportunities to figure out where they want to work", or not work... you're not alone, the exodus must be huge right now. Eventually smart management will need to do better to keep talent, and that will mean a change in how they treat people, or they will be paying a lot more... Unfortunately, they have a long way down the wormhole before they get their head out of their assess.

Like 'Pecs says, we are all willing to help eachother, and we are a good collective of dudes with strong moral compasses and diverse life experiences. If you need to get some external perspective on your thoughts, this is a great place to share.

The company is losing people in droves. Everyone that finds out what I did expresses congrats and jealousy. I've been encouraging people to stand up for themselves and bail, but most don't have the financial freedom that I have to take a few months without income. And that's the :bs: thing. The company traps people and forces them to do dumb things knowing most won't just up and quit. A few people I talk to aren't even looking for jobs despite being miserable. "The devil you know..." type response. I get it, but this is abusive.

Eventually it'll crash down, we'll see how long it takes. I'm just glad I won't be there for the ride.

Yea not having had a few years of overhead is what kept me in my last job at a failing company. It was absolute misery but the alternative was being on the street or having to get into debt and then the street again. So I sucked it up and suffered.

That suffering then really led me to save and save and save and live at like 1/4 of my needs or less. Now the mental freedom is astonishing. The fear of company going under or me being fired is no longer there because :aintcare: go ahead and make my day pal. This is the single biggest piece of advice I can give to anyone, being caught in a horrible financial liability cycle is not worth it… when all of it can come crashing down at any point in time. I’d rather drive a $3000 civic :aintcare: than worry about payments on an m3 and pretend like I made it. Unfortunately most people don’t think that way.

Now is the time to make those moves Chris and not look back. That sort of shit ain’t worth it. So more power to ya! The house is cheap you love where you live and the rat race is stupid.

A big reason for moving was a significantly cheaper COL with overhead that can be covered with a job at Costco. The concept of living drastically below your means has always appealed to me, and making it real this last year has been awesome. Also why we got a CT instead of something way fancier. Had the cash, but I wanted the financial stability to be able to walk away from this shit job and survive for a while without another one. I really do value my debt free independence over fancy material things. Just weird that I've been working non stop since 16, and now I won't be for a bit. Very unnerving, I just hope I can chill a bit.

I'm actually going clean in my off time. Minimal drinking and no smoking, I think it's been contributing to my depression as a crutch AND I'm worried there's still plenty of companies out there testing for it.
Yea… That shit is honestly not good. It may not have an immediate impact but over time it adds up and makes you feel fairly depressed and looking for the next high. It is not some wonder drug with no consequence as most advertise it.

What starts as an escape can quickly escalate to a crutch then addiction. It's not chemically addictive in the sense that you crave more, but mentally you start to depend on it of sorts. I've found that it tends to amplify your present state of mind, so sadness goes to deep depression, excitement is euphoria, etc. My current mental state is resulting in some really bad experiences, and it needs to stop.

The choice is clear.
We know the backstory of loathing in the 328i.
It was too slow
It didn’t handle well enough
It had the exhaust changed and then changed back
It didn’t have Bluetooth
It was deemed “more booring than a gti”
It was bought back for 5k or something more than it was sold for … in the ultimate cuck move

You went in on something that will get pawned off to the wife quicker than you can say Dodge brothers once the :dill: s come back in 6 months.

Also no way will the CT2 stay longer than 24 months. :plac:

:disclaimer: I voted for neither one of you
It was only $1500 more :lolol: and plus $5k in mods that certainly make it better. It was still certainly a 100% cuck move due to it basically being forced by :tits:

I still have the Corvette though, so joke’s on her

The thread is gold, just cast my vote.

Darn absentee voters strike again 🤭

I didn't invest campaigning efforts like Detroit, nor did I vote for myself, but it does feel like a justified win. I bought a car I didn't want all that much 100% due to :tits: and :scrooge: influence.

The backstory is cuck-y, I will argue that my car is probably in the top 50% around here of non-cuck, a lot of people here drive pretty lame ass cars anymore. I think if Coogs actually had the lesbo wagon in hand, he would be a contender as well.

If you ignore the backstory, I win. The Cucktrek is lame AF to internet bros and your BMW is the stuff people :fap: to.

But the backstory managed to tip the thing in your favor, which I even agree with since I willingly chose the Cucktrek because I like it.

I would argue that a hybrid Corolla is the cuckiest car on the list

It's the cheapest and most efficient thing here plus he'll be blowing tens of thousands on sports cars and bikes soon enough anyway.

Second point is irrelevant first point is exactly why I’d argue that. The Cmax and the Mazda 3 are technically the cheapest ones on this list but this wasn’t about cheap though.
