After all this wedding shit is done and I finish paying off a little credit card debt from it I plan on making a simple setup like this. Not sure what route I wanna go or what platform. I hate to buy a whole console for what will basically end up being a single game.

I need to start planning a rig.

You should take a Camaro shell from work and replace the windshield with a monitor.

Push button start can turn on the Xboner, steering wheel, pedals, shifter can be replaced with the console ones, etc.

eh, sunk costs. buy used. everything in that pics save for the xbox itself is used.

used xbone's are about 200: spend the 50 bucks to buy new off amazon.
logitech g920 street price is ~280 plus 60 for the manual shifter, i got for 200 off the :crang: list
Legit Playseat street price between 300 to 400 on a good day: :crang: list? 140 cash monay.

So basically I got a setup that would have cost near 1k new with tax for 340 bucks. I do need to get the gearshift adaptor for the playseat if I want to use my shifter :doe: that's about 110...or i can try to make it. I think my time is prob more valuable :doe:

Sounds like how I'd build it. I'm :scrooge: and would piece that bitch together the same way. I half ass did some research on wheels and chairs a while back but held out since I didn't have any bites when I started to sell my bike. I ended up buying Konis and a sway bar instead, but I wan't to get some feaux seat time in between autocrosses.
I want to dig into trail braking and it's really hard to do it on the course while I'm learning.

This is another reason I wanna get a small welder, so I can do little things around the garage, and modify shit like that to house a shifter and dumb shit like a drink holder. Gotta have a place to race and sip on my Circle K Polar Pop while hitting those sweet apexes and spilling Mike & Ikes all over the seat

:fax: wins hands down on awesome setup for fraction of new cost.

I can’t easily find the chair setup local. Could home brew a slider for existing car seat.

I’d say so. There isn’t one in the entire Texas gulf region. Looks like cutting and welding an excercise bike is in my future.

I still like my 2x4 setup. $10 in materials and a few hours. :iono:

Got any pix? I got tons of woodworking tools. I'd love to get a small welder and do my own framing and seat mount/rails and stuff to learn with but realistically I can make it out of wood faster/cheaper/easier. It would be bulkier though.

Think I'm gonna take the plunge on fm7. I've got a g27 that works for my pc but not xbone which is a major shit on xbone (need the next level up hurr durr). But the cross platforming is basically what sold me.

These things are like $200 on B&H and newegg. Adjustable, and folds up so you can just throw it in a closet when you need space.

No good shots but here is an earlier iteration or two of it. ImageImage

Looks like something I'd build to get the job done. Actually looks pretty compact with it in the corner.
My friend mentioned the foldable chair thing for $200, I just wasn't sure if it would be sturdy enough. Thing is I've got the room to put it somewhere permanently so I wanted something pretty stoute.
