I hate sorting through stuff and entering tax info for the wife's business... such a pain in the ass.
Usually the bang for the buck is insane. It is literally some of the best money I spend every year. Would rather DIY on almost ANYTHING besides this.
:dat:
I figured you'd also fall on the side of hiring a professional tax doer.

I mean if you just have a pair of W-2's and a mortgage deduction, you can turbrotax, but that' hasn't been my sitch for 20 years. Even if my tax situation got radically simplified I would never go back to self-prep doe.

they do a great job of reminding you about shit and cost of said shit. And its easy as hell to itemize and link up with mint/fidelity. Literally fool proof, just give it all the access and pay it $94. Its really :impressive: But sometimes I get a very :notsure: about cross website info sharing.

Right, sounds easy but Turbotax is overcomplicating things and I'm not sure why. Downsides to using a thing that you plug numbers into and have no control over the actual worksheets.
Click "Forms" on the top right and you get the electronic version of the actual forms.

Good luck though, when I've done that in the past things never worked out and I ended up starting over. One year I did my taxes 8 times on Turbo Tax to fix errors it seemingly couldn't recover from.

Every year I swear that next year I'm hiring someone and I never do.... wtf is wrong with me?
this year i actually did.

It was worth it this year for sure, but now that life will be simpler in the future I might go back to doing it myself.

Oh, okay. I thought you were cutting them a check now for that.

I think the question now Is if it is worth it to you to pay the fees and go into debt to the feds over $3k?

Maybe it's just me, but I would rather beg, borrow and scavenge before owing the IRS money and having them lean on me more than we already have it happen.

eh, we have too much taken out because dink's and I hate owing. Might change that next year.

Basically, its 150 bucks in fees and shit to kick it to next year and have them pay off the rest of this years taxes with next years overpayment.

We don't have a shitload of cash on hand, so its worth 150 for me to keep the cash on hand.

Yeah, I hear you on the DINK situation. We both claim Single - 0 and get raped per check and it is never enough when tax time comes around. I think I need to talk to a tax guy and see if buying a Yacht or something improves my situation. Maybe I should see if Trump is soliciting tax advice...

Start a side business and use it as a tax shelter. Just don't show a loss for 3+ years in a row.

The IRS is not an ordinary creditor. They are a creditor with black helicopters and police powers. I just want to be done with them as quickly and decisively as possible.
