Totally.
Just completely went to zero once your tongue was coated. Then it just left an alcohol taste.
Tonight's looks interesting @ 116 proof.
Too much of anything is bad, but too much good whiskey is barely enough

Wow.
Strong, but way too sweet tasting. I cut it with a few drops of water and it helped a bit, but still too sweet for me.

There was a hint of pepper in it that was almost invisible. The smell made me think I would get some honey and cinnamon, but nope.[user not found] wrote: ↑Wed Dec 05, 2018 6:47 amSounds like it was just alcohol and sweetness, no Cinnamon or anything?CorvetteWaxer wrote: ↑Tue Dec 04, 2018 10:48 pm

In poverty drinking news, "basic" Old Forrester is $24 for a 1.75 at Costco. At that price you can't afford to be sober.
A bargain at twice the price.Desertbreh wrote: ↑Wed Dec 05, 2018 11:06 pm In poverty drinking news, "basic" Old Forrester is $24 for a 1.75 at Costco. At that price you can't afford to be sober.
Old Forrester is basically Woodford reserve seconds, if not the same exactly just relabeled. Same mash bill, same yeast strain.

I just overpoured myself about 2.5 ounces in a Glen Cairn.Detroit wrote: ↑Mon Dec 17, 2018 7:15 pmGot some Balevenie 12 year that I like a lot. In4results on the 25.CorvetteWaxer wrote: ↑Mon Dec 17, 2018 6:22 pm Boss gave me a Christmas present today...

The nose is rather tame, but definitely can smell the oak cask. The taste is really mellow, no big spike of any extra crazy flavors or alcohol burn. Just some hints of sweetness followed by oak to round it out.
Quite drinkable and enjoyable for when you don't want peat or complex concoctions of flavors. I like it.

Did you try it over ice? Really woke it up for me.[user not found] wrote: ↑Wed Dec 19, 2018 9:20 pm I've come to a decision on Johnny Drumm. It's a perfect second dram and it probably would do well decanted.
