In here we discuss kitchen projects.
I'm nearing the end of a kitchen remodel. We got rid of the green colored fake wood 1960s poverty cabinets, green ceramic sink, and "I'm surprised these still work" appliances. Also ripped out the drop ceilings (yes, plurual, thanks to the South Philly "I know a guy" remodels this house has gone through) Got new povety Ikea cabinets, getting quartz counters, new ceiling with drop lights, new under cabinet lights, new fan, and new appliances.
It's a pretty upgrade.
Also, these are stupid easy to install and work great:

What's wrong with plain old LED floods? I use 5000K in the kitchen and it looks fantastic.

I just installed several can lights in my house for these LED retrofits. They are made for E17 or T24. I got 6' IC IUL rated cans with T24 conectors.Johnny_P wrote: It's a pretty upgrade.

3" Gimbal for the kitchen (I only got two, but might get two more) And two 5' UL rated for the bathroom.
The retrofits are awesome man, I can't wait until my painting is done so I can see the fruit of my labor.

I put 6 of the 1200 (IIRC) lumen 5000K bulbs in our little kitchen and it's awesome. Middle of the night vs sunny day doesn't matter, the kitchen looks the same.
OMG THE BULBS AREN'T 100% FLUSH MOUNT THOUGH

Light:

Not sure of the light wavelength.

Mine hates them too, but I do all of the house/yard work and most of the cleaning and cooking so I put in whatever lights I want ol:
I have 5000K in the kitchen, bathrooms, garage, and my office. Regular yellow everywhere else.

I'm having a hard time getting a sink. The standard large sink at Home Depot and Lowes will be too big for my cabinet space... or at least I think. According to the cabinet drawings there's plenty of space, but real life measurements make it seem like it won't fit. And I need a sink by Wednesday for the countertop guys.

Trouble is there's a 4" board along the top left diagonal that I assume is there to reinforce the counter, but I think it will be in the way of a 33" sink

Why don't you just buy the 34" sink from Home Depot and if it doesn't work just return it?haleyann wrote:wap wrote: What size is your sink cabinet?

I'm betting it will fit.
The sink has to be there on Wednesday for the counter guys to cut the counter to fit. I suppose I could buy two sizes and have them both there...wap wrote:Why don't you just buy the 34" sink from Home Depot and if it doesn't work just return it?haleyann wrote:

5000k?
Color temp is a matter of preference, I know. But just an FYI: 5000k does not produce any more light than something warmer like a 3000k. Same lumen output, just a different color temperature.

I don't want warm. I want things to look the way they do in sunlight instead of being fucking yellow.lagunasecaballs wrote:5000k?
