Yeah, who wants to be able to reach over the side of the bed to get something, or change their air filter without a 6ft ladder?
Full-size truck designs are retarded.

Counter point, I actually want more narrow and tall tire choices for off-road tires. 35x10.5 load range C would be but almost nobody makes them.

I'd love a ZR2 more. JT is my favorite

When we were doing the Impala project, my dad originally wanted to go with 15s, which I played hell trying to figure out a brake solution that would fit 15" wheels and not suck. When it finally came time to look at tires, he quickly saw the few shitty selections, and agreed to step up to 17s.
Of course, I fear that 17s will soon be phased out and tire manufacturers will only have decent offerings in 18"+ for anything with some actual width.
I will probably pick these up next time, the older RT615K version has treated me well over the last couple of sets.

Interesting. I'm going to be in the market for some tires for the 944 in the near future, so I'm curious to hear your thoughts on your Falkens.D Griff wrote: ↑Thu Jan 14, 2021 12:15 pmHuckleberry wrote: ↑Thu Jan 14, 2021 11:38 am

I am on my second set of the 615K version, I have been really happy with them! They lack a tad in outright grip compared to RE71R but mine have been fantastic for wear, 12ish track days or so plus corresponding street miles (5K ish?). They are very consistent and don't have a massive fall off in performance over the life. On-road manners are pretty decent for what they are, from everything I've tried/read, they really are the closest you can come to a true track-friendly and street-friendly tire.Huckleberry wrote: ↑Thu Jan 14, 2021 12:56 pmInteresting. I pretty much keep them on March-November and just rock all seasons for the coldest months or if I'm just going to be logging a ton of highway miles or something.

I may give them a shot when the time comes for tires on the 944. Tirerack has them for $160/piece in the sizes I need. So, I'm sure I could find them for even less in an interwebz journey.D Griff wrote: ↑Fri Jan 15, 2021 10:14 amI am on my second set of the 615K version, I have been really happy with them! The 615K or updated 660K? I'd be curious to hear impressions on the new ones if you pick them up.Huckleberry wrote: ↑Fri Jan 15, 2021 11:05 amI may give them a shot when the time comes for tires on the 944. Probably the 660s unless they still have 615s when the time comes.D Griff wrote: ↑Fri Jan 15, 2021 12:06 pmThe 615K or updated 660K? I'd be curious to hear impressions on the new ones if you pick them up.Huckleberry wrote: ↑Fri Jan 15, 2021 11:05 am

I bought some new old stock 615s last year for like $600 for four in 275/40/17Huckleberry wrote: ↑Fri Jan 15, 2021 1:06 pmProbably the 660s unless they still have 615s when the time comes.
The new ones are still quite reasonable though, $200 apiece in that size. I like buying Falken/Tirerack too, they pump money back into the HPDE stuff I do.

I do have the benefit of having a Tirerack warehouse 30 minutes from my house. So, pick up is easy and free.D Griff wrote: ↑Fri Jan 15, 2021 1:18 pmI bought some new old stock 615s last year for like $600 for four in 275/40/17Huckleberry wrote: ↑Fri Jan 15, 2021 1:06 pm

So my house was built in 1974, and one of the things that always bothered me about it was the garage floor was caked in oil... So I took it on myself it clean it first... 8 cans of brakekleen later.... you see the result in pic... I took all of the surface oil out (not even going to post those nightmare pics). But if you know concrete... once you stain it ... it's done forever. So I decided to lay a new floor. Also repainted the entire garage and ceiling... Been a fun 2 days of Labor last weekend.

I want to have a company etch mine and epoxy coat it with soothing that has a gritty/sand mixed into it. Up here I need to sweep and spray my floors because of salt and dirt build up on the cars.
That looks 5/7, hope to make mine look better this summer.

I mean this is a material that resists chemicals, and it is impermeable. I would think you should be able to simply wash that stuff off. After using a shop vac to pick up the loose gunk.
I didn’t want to risk epoxy because i had too much oil on the concrete at some point. Yes I know you can etch and clean it... but this was an old floor

Mine isn't great either, 20 yrs of abuse and a few stains. I figure that etching is enough, and I have a business card from the guys that do Toyota manufacturing plant shop floors, so they aren't amatures.max225 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 22, 2021 6:46 pmI mean this is a material that resists chemicals, and it is impermeable.
