Well the 100 y/o was more around the age of company not age of employee. The working environment is completely different in a startup vs a old corp which has a "dude" for every job and everyone is silo'ed in one job function.

I know I'm here, but this is where I think Lucent has a bit of a leg up on other EV startups in that they have former established OEM manufacturing dudes on staff. There's a former Ferd guy and maybe someone from FCA ( about that one, tbh). Again, time will tell.

Yep, exactly my point.max225 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 07, 2021 2:20 pmI have interviewed people from tesla. There is some major Chaos over there... and that's by design. Sink or swim baby. I'm so glad I got out of that archaic work style. "Tech lyfe" is chaotic, but like you said it's by design. If you can make it in that, you can make it anywhere.

Any of the used retailers would love your basically new whip. A $20k profit is nothing to sneeze at IMO. Get some quotes just for lulz.max225 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 07, 2021 4:06 pm Going rate for my ride is 100k+

The only way I work past 55 is if I really like what I'm doing at the time.

That's only 12 yrs older then my current age, I'd love to bail at 55 but i would need to find something to occupy my mind to keep it active.
You're in a fortunate position as a DINK, you can taylor your income and assets to last you just long enough for one life cycle. I have two kiddos that I hope to see live a comfortable lifestyle, so I carry that extra weight with extra working years and property purchases. I'll probably pull the chute at 65 if all goes well.

Different strokes. We decided DINK lyfe in large part to retire at a reasonable age so we can enjoy more life (I'm also REALLY not a kid person).Tarspin wrote: ↑Tue Dec 07, 2021 4:43 pmThat's only 12 yrs older then my current age, I'd love to bail at 55 but i would need to find something to occupy my mind to keep it active.

I want to decouple life from work. I don't like working really, or maybe I just haven't found a job I LIKE yet, but I've focused too much on work so far and don't really have much else. I want/need time to fix that, and I don't know if I'll find that time when I'm working 11 hour days 5 days a week (and some weekends).

From the range tests I've seen (I believe the carwow YT channel has done multiple) it seems to underperform similar to most on the highway.

Oh yea I owe you guys an answer on actual "range" vs what is "claimed". Based on my limited driving the car is using .295kW per mile... has a 100kw battery pack... so ~338 mile range but I also don't drive like a cuck. its 80-90mph freeway mph here.

Nobody buys a 10 second car to drive it like a Prius. Aggressive driving range results are needed.

For sure, that's a lot of hours dude, I'm in the 55 range spread out over six days but I get a lot of billable WFH so that makes it somewhat low stress most weekdays. I really don't have proper hobbies either, retirement will be great in that way and a person still has a lot of energy at 55, maybe I'll hit that target but I'm doubtful.Detroit wrote: ↑Tue Dec 07, 2021 5:01 pmDifferent strokes. The ship has already sailed on that I think. The time to do that was June 21 through ~Mar 22. Once new inventory starts to build, this game is over. Especially with a Tesla since it has to be ordered so far in advance.Desertbreh wrote: ↑Tue Dec 07, 2021 5:26 pmSo, we should all just quit our jobs and buy new cars and sell them to used outlets.

That's a pretty nice European vacation.

It's more like a bonus than an ongoing income replacement. that I would be willing to go through all of the effort, it seems like seeking out the s, negotiating with managing/storing the cars, managing the 'vana. Plus if things change, you could be stuck with six figures of cars.
Not something I would seek out, but Max has a bird in hand situation.
On the flip side, if you like the Tessie, fuck it. It should still have good value a few months down the line.
