I got into a shitshow debate when someone was bitching on the Jeep forum that 4H is only until 45mph. He claimed the "safety" of having awd on during "blizzards". I told him that if he wants to go 45+mph during a "blizzard" he needs to adjust his driving style to now be a hazzard to others.

He told me to that he doesn't want advice on winter driving from Cali bros that should be asking questions about how to attach surfboards to their 335i :gaydance:

A misfire and a seized caliper... :iono:
Spark plugs are over due anyway (factory interval is 30k miles or 30 months), this isn't surprising. It's not even bad enough to throw any codes. The caliper wasn't seized, only one of the slider pins. I hit it with an impact and WD40 to break it loose, then cleaned and regreased it. Not a big deal.

Normal people would never have noticed either issue.

Don't scrape the glass. Use the ammonia and heat to soften the tint and it should slough right off.

Use goo-gone or Tarminator to clean the adhesive schmutz off the glass when the tint's off.
:notbad:

Guess I'll give it a shot, I have all of that crap on hand here. The :tints: are stupidly dark, previous owner must have only driven it on sunny days.

My rubber dorito mats came yesterday too, they look and feel good. Definitely heavy duty. The set of 4 weighs a full 10 lbs, such anti- :stig: weight addition.

Yeah, just protect your plastics and rubberized surfaces.
Do you apply heat to the inside or outside?

Any reason not to also run the defroster to add more heat?

Some of the damn second layer didn't come off, so the rear window looks like crap now but I can see out of it at least... The side windows seem to be coming off much more completely.

Sitting out in the cold for the next few days, hopefully will get spark plugs and tires soon.

You can also see that I'm the only moran who actually shovels the driveway/sidewalk here. :whocares:

Yeah I saw it, great choice by the SCCA. Almost makes me wish I had gone for the FRZ, but I still hate the lowered ride height of the Eibach springs in the spec suspension... and the FRZ engine is boring compared to the rotard.

Oh, the :tints: removal went about 3.5/7 overall. The front side windows were 5/7 with no residue at all left, rear side windows were 4/7 with a decent amount of glue left, and the damn rear window was 2/7 with large patches of the inner layer of the tint film remaining in addition to a bunch of glue. I can at least see out the back now, but it's going to need serious attention at some point when the weather improves. :eeyore:

Got back home today and the tuneup parts were waiting for me, so I changed the plugs+wires+coils this afternoon along with the air filter and cleaned the MAF sensor and took the car out for a bit of driving. It runs well now and already handles a lot better with the Konis, stiffened front sway bar, and fancy bump stops. It's slightly more harsh over bigger sharp impacts due to the stiffer bump stops, but is not objectionable at all and is really well damped over everything else. Still needs tires and alignment - Discount Tire Direct has the 245/40/17 RE71R's on sale right now for no particular reason so I ordered a set tonight. $519 shipped for the set = :troywax:
