I'm seriously enjoying this car more than my M3
:notsure:
Essentially, the manual transmission is what did it, lol. DCT in my M3 was efficient and "fun" in the more aggressive settings (super hard downshift blips), but I found most of the satisfaction coming from my STi was perfectly downshift rev matching on my own compared to pulling the left paddle in my M3.

That and not worrying about my 20 thousand dollar motor grenading on me before the rod bearing replacement also helps :lolol:

Apples to apples, even if I had a manual in the e90, it was time to let it go.

You're still on the fence over whether you're keeping yours.

The Greddy exhaust is pretty loud from inside.
That's DFD groupthink doe. I love the car.
GReddy exhaust is definitely loud - however, it's bearable. I can have perfectly normal volume conversations while at highway speeds, just ask :neek: LOL. That bald bastard spent 12 hours with me in the car and we were extremely chatty Cathy's.

To be honest, unless they went digging into the battery cycles of your car (something about tuning the STi with a Cobb AP adds a cycle), they're not gonna know the car is tuned.

Thanks! And yeah my GTI had an intake and an OTS tune. I guess that'd be....stage 1?

STi feels slower than my tuned GTI - that could be due to the gearing, weight or a combination of other things. Not to mention, the DSGay in the GTI is way more efficient than me shifting gears hahaha.

These are going to be my winter wheels, so I may as well burn off the OEM rubber I paid for so I won't feel like such a tool when I dismount them in the fall and get some winters mounted onto them.

Good reason to burn off the OEM rubbers. STi + winter tarz will be awesome.

The 2015 used one I test drove was still on Winters on the lot and I took it through some unplowed parts of Old Historic Route 66. I was pretty sold, lol. I couldn't wait for mine to come in at that point.

Hop into a 2018, meng. The new WRX just keeps closing the gap between it and the STi. The "only" thing I can think of in the current refresh that would sway me back towards the STi is the suspension, BIG ass front brakes and the retuned torque vectoring differential.

Otherwise, tune and a catback, you're at STi power levels.

I'm sticking with my pumpkin for the next year while it's still under certified warranty. As the :baby: gets bigger I'll probably want something with 4 doors doe. And the WRX is certainly on the short list of options. Will have to revisit them when the time comes.

I need me some waxables again too.

Honestly, man, I probably could have saved a shit ton of money going with a WRX, but a majority of me is glad I didn't, lol. My little brother's WRX feels like a different car. I drove Dustin's WRX at the Fap2.0 as well and the dynamics were noticeably different in power delivery and handling (I'm no racecar pro. Just butt dyno and butt handling feelings).

It is awesome. The car is a damn tank in the winter. But no drama at all, so it's actually less likely to get you into snow shenanigans. Just very stable.

That's probably a good thing for safety. Less exciting for snow :stig: doe.

My work exploder with RWD and an open diff is way more "fun" in the snow. The STI is more stable.

Yeah I drove the last of the winter season on the OEM dunlops. Literally no drama in -15 degree weather when these tires are supposed to be hockey pucks.

18x9.5+40 Volk TE37RT's in Pressed Black
Michelin PSS 265/35/18 tars
Rally Armor Mudflaps
GReddy SP cat-back
MA Performance tune
eBay lip
WC Lathewerks Titanium shift knob
STICKER BOMBED AS FUCK TOO BREH

Here she is hindering Melon's Brub Tub on the Dragon.

I don't have any other plans for her other than driving her better (dat driver mod, doe).

At first, i really wanted the hatch and I was super disappointed they stopped making it. Now that I've got the wing on the back, I have no ragerts about going with the sedan <3
