Sold my Douche Mobile back in November of 2016.

I picked up this burning crotch condition in February of this year:

Image

I did some bro'ing out too. I bought:

18x9.5+40 Volk TE37RT's in Pressed Black
Michelin PSS 265/35/18 tars
Rally Armor Mudflaps
GReddy SP cat-back
MA Performance tune
eBay lip
WC Lathewerks Titanium shift knob
STICKER BOMBED AS FUCK TOO BREH

Image

Here she is hindering Melon's Brub Tub on the Dragon.

I don't have any other plans for her other than driving her better (dat driver mod, doe).
I like rumbles, vape juice and mudflaps :gay:

Thanks :sissyfight: I was a little hung up that there was no hatch option, but now that I have the sedan with the massive FAA certified wang on there, I'm glad I didn't get the hatch. The STi was meant to have the ridiculously large...appendage.

The one thing I *absolutely* miss is the higher revs. The sounds my M3 made on downshifts... :lolol: :jizz:

I hate to admit this:

It's the manual transmission and honing in on a new skill that I never bothered with before (M3 was DCT).

For the sake of this situation, yes. I still would have sold my M3 if it were a manual. Dem rod bearings, doe.

S65 V8 is 20k new to replace, lol. New EJ257 is like 5k. I like my chances, haha.

I denno. I also had this weird nagging feeling in the back of my head that the car was just going to shatter the moment I turned it on. Would it have been fine after I got the rods, throttle actuators and idle control valve replaced? Sure, but those were technically just bandaids. Throttle actuators have been known to fail days within replacement just due to their fucked up, shitty design.

If I had more time and the willingness to spend more money, I would have kept my e90.

Exactly how i felt about my E46.
///M lyfe.

Will the subframe fix hold?
Does the rear end clunk mean it didn't?
When will the vanos fail?
When will the rod bearings fail a 2nd time (They wear out every 80-100k)

The bearing life is about the same for e9x M3's, but that's also a toss up in itself. Couple cases where the new bearings failed OR the coated, newer bearings exposed the next weakest link: Main bearings. It becomes one of those rabbit holes where guys started thinking "well, I'm already in there... so.... replace the main bearings too".

My quote from a really good shop in scottsdale WITH my BMW Bro Douche discount was 9800 bucks for

VAC Rod bearings
BMW OEM Throttle Actuators (x2)
BMW OEM Idle Control Valve
Spark Plugs
Oil Change
and corresponding labor @ the discounted rate of $89/Hr

I denno. fuck that shit.

I was thinking about that as I sold my E90. STi was a good financial move. I pulled out the 15k in equity I had at 2.2%, paid off my credit debt and got a new car in the process. Payment went down, insurance went down and overall cost of operation went down as well. Had I leased an F80 M3 like I tossed up at one point, I'd have had a higher payment, higher insurance, but with no credit debt. I denno. The car wasn't enticing enough to gamble my 15k with.

If I can keep this fucking mod bug in check, I'll be in good shape. So far, nothing else is really pushing me to mod the STi. Taking it on the dragon made me realize this is already more than enough car my current driving skillset can handle. Any more power, and I'm sure I would have had a shittier time on the trip.

That's pretty much the plan. I dumped way too much money into my M3 and I didn't even have it long enough to explore the extra leeway those mods got me.

Ah well. What's done is done. It's not like I bought a girl a Kia or anything.....
