Doing it right the first time is always cheaper than doing it twice.
Thats the plan. I learned the hard way on my GTI.

Im just looking forward to having the car sorted.
The car should be a blast once it's sorted!

I've done the "do it cheap" thing before, and you always end up replacing the cheap shit with the stuff you should've bought and installed in the first place.

Thats the plan. Ive been looking up some issues. I noticed my shift knob shaking a bit. It appears to probably be the engine mounts. I will have to check those tonight.

Im excited for the car to be ready and hopefully I can stop worrying about it so much.

Went for a little cruise last night with the wife. There wasnt any hooning or any high speed driving. About 40 minutes into the drive I could feel heat radiating from the transmission tunnel at my arm and also down by my feet. It actually worked its way through my leather boot and my food was getting pretty toasty.

The temp gauge in the car didnt go up and everything seemed okay driving. I pulled the car over and popped the hood. No smoke or smells but quite a bit of heat. Let the car chill for 15 minutes and drove home without issue.

Im not sure what was going on but I do not like the excessive heat. It worries me a bit.

I guarantee you that the big shift boot is ripped if the heat is that bad

Looks like a simple part. It also gives me a chance to change out the oil in the shifter.

I just need to get some time to start tearing the car apart and looking at everything.

Too much hate towards the custom plates and I was tired of riding dirty in the Miata. So I got regular plates today.

You made the correct choice.

I just wanted one less thing to worry about with the car. And if getting the car registered and legal made me feel better I will take it. Now just to get it fixed up.
