OEMs leave so much on the table, brah.

Mod a car and nearly double the power, and you may have unintended consequences. :dealwithit:

But I think sometimes you just get a POS car. My GTI was stock, and it was a pile. I loved the people on mk6 that would say it's all due to me not maintaining and taking care of it. Motherfucker it was dealer serviced at the exact MFR specified intervals and I never turned anything down, how does that say neglect and wtf does that have to do with a water pump exploding or a dual mass flywheel spring breaking or a GD sunroof?

Fucking forumbrehs. Grambles was a total forumbreh.
:dat:

Your GTI was a perfect example of :mahtroy: luck and nothing more. Mine, on the other hand, was tuned and perfectly reliable, zero water pumps, no issues with the clutch, etc.

Doubling power, you should EXPECT problems.
Which is exactly :butwhy: I am waffling on tuning the STI. I don't want problems with this car.

Its not the power that I'd want, it's the smoothed out throttle response. It's incredibly touchy. Pair that with a stiff suspension, and you get a surging problem over bumps and potholes as your foot moves the tiniest amount from bouncing around in the seat. Only really noticeable below 30 MPH in low gears, which is where I do most of my driving. On a back road or highway it's not as noticeable.

But yes, I WOT my car and take it to redline daily. Not a lot of places to do that in the city but there are a few that I detour to, lol. It's not a massively fast car. Faster than a stock MK6 GTI, probably comparable to a stage 1 MK6.

I'm younger and I find with just lowering springs I don't need or want to go any lower.

And :dat: was my point. You bought the car for performance/driving enjoyment, low depreciation, decent reliability.

And not the scene cred.
