So Orbea updated their site with the 2018 Alma. Looks pretty nice. I think my Cannondale still has the better fork and brakes but my ramz aren't tubeless ready.

Has some great reviews and installs/removes in 15 seconds, and is foldable for storage.
Yeah those look solid. Might want to cable lock the bike though. Not sure how theft proof that rack is.

You can likely pick up a set of take-off TLR wheels later. The other big difference is the lack of Boost spacing.

Overall, though - I'd say the Cannondale has the better spec.
Yep
Also. Just get a Stans wheelset when you're ready. Lighter than the stock TLR wheels and more durable.

Test rode some Pivots today.

Mach 429 Trail

Switchblade

Switchblade was better. The Mach felt maybe faster but was rough on impact. The switchblade was like a couch but could climb. Very playful.

I also like SRAM better than Shimano XT. Lever felt much better. IDK. Shift quality was similar doe. Really just down to the levers now.

Fox 36 fork is so damn smooth. Dang.

Do you guys just replace the rims or the whole wheel including spokes and hubs? Not like I'm doing it anytime soon though.

Meanwhile, I'm ordering some more bike stuff.

I have that same bike stand sitting in my amazon list. Right now I just lean it up against the wall, but I will need to find a better solution soon.

That's what I'm doing now. I don't want my shiny new bike to fall though and the stand has great reviews.

There's already 2 little chips in the top tube from the brake levers. Happened when loading it in the hatch. :disappoint:

I've heard amazing things about the Switchblade.
My dad built the Mach...and he can't stop raving about it.

Ran out of gas during last night's ride for some reason. Pretty frustrating. I hope to get back out tomorrow.

Get a rack.
I am. Fit kit for the GoRf is on the order. Gonna test it out with fled's stuff and if all goes well buy it.

I'll probably go with the thule sidearm rack.

How'd the first ride go?
It was good. I took it kinda slow though. I was all :fuckyeah: lets charge up this hill! Then I hit a rut or something and the front tire slid out from under me.

I definitely want to check out the other trails around here.

Dude had a solid 5/7 commitment, and was fucking booking it up towards that hill... then it went up... so did his bike... just not him. Full on shoulder bomb into the hill. I'm amazed he didn't break his shoulder.

It climbed well but wasn't plush at all. The Orbea felt better :iono:

Yeah switchblade doe. Man. I guess it's the same reason people love the Specialized Enduro. Plush and stiff climes great and tons of travel. Way more fun.

Received my bike stuff today. Thule fit kit for the R, seat bag, gloves, and bike stand.

I also removed the front and rear reflectors but I'm not sure how to do the ones in the wheel spokes.
