It was pretty solid rain for 6 hours or so yesterday during the day and then another storm last night.fledonfoot wrote: ↑Thu Jun 14, 2018 10:05 am How much did it actually rain up there?
Six mile is usually good after 2 full days of sun and warm weather.

I'm gonna drag wifey and the bikes up to Blue mountain this weekend and see what happens.
I should probably put the Ardent/High Roller II back on the bike over the Nobby Nics.

The green and blue trails I'd be taking her down look pretty tame in this video.

Have to drop off the 2nd set of keys for the Bro Forks anyway.

I ordered an Ultegra 8000 rear derailleur for the cross rig so I could up the cassette size. They're now shadow setups like the mountain bikes have. So that's cool. And an 11-36 cassette and new chain. Should be able to pick it up and install it today.
Also went to bike shop and bought a handlebar feed bag. It's Doing a 70 mile gravel torture ride this weekend with some friends in central PA, so I figured extra carrying capacity would come in very handy.
Anyways.
I talked wheels with the owner of Bicycle Revolutions. He had a pre-built set of cross wheels for $450 ish, and worked up a custom quote for me. Here are the deets:
Pre-built:
Origin8 hubs (which I think are made by Formula but I am not sure) http://www.origin8.bike/product-descrip ... _uid=15928
DT Swiss R460 rims
24 spokes front, 28 rear
Tape but no valves I think
$450
Customs:
DT Swiss 350 hubs
WTB KOM i21 rims
Wheelsmith double butted spokes, 32 f and r
Brass nipples
Tape and valves
$828
Gotta add rotors to these prices. I already have the tires.
They're going to be a little bit ligher, based on his calcs and my estimated calcs using online stuff. Are the 32 spokes and DT hubs and about 200 grams worth $378 more? The KOMs are 21mm internal width, the DTs are 18mm. So the tire will fill out a lot more.
God dammit I hate bike wheels. $828 feels like an assload of money for 2 aluminum hoops, an aluminum clicky cylinder, and some wire.
Oh man, more lolz.... these are the same exact off the shelf wheels he had...

Gets really hard to support the local guy when this kind of stuff happens...
