Today was fuckin awesome.

After 11,373' of vertical in deep powder, my legs are like fuckin noodles. It just kept dumping and dumping and dumping with no signs of slowing down. The snow was actually starting to come down harder and it's not supposed to let up until midday tomorrow. Tomorrow should be epic!

The drive up was incredibly mild, the snow seemed to sit right over the continental divide.

Work is for suckers!

I live in Colorado but all of my work is travel. I leave for 6 weeks and then I come home for 3-4 weeks. So all in all I have about 4 months off per year. While I'm home I'm off work, and right now it's ski season. I go up a lot while I'm home, get 10-15k of very in and head home before the traffic.

To be honest being in Colorado there's never a bad time to be off, but ski season is a huge huge perk.

Yesterday was a pretty amazing powderday, but it's just kept dumping and dumping. There was another 12" that fell overnight. Today the powder was thigh deep in places. Such an awesome awesome day but I am soooooo beat. I really want to go back tomorrow but my legs are so tired it's hard to get up the stairs lol.

They got another 6 inches overnight.

My legs can't handle it. I need a day or too off. I'll go back up Sunday.

Made it out Blue last night. Was freezing but surprisingly not overly icy. 7.5 miles from the house is clutch

So winter has been rough here... I booked a CO trip months ago for next week. I couldn't even wait for that to happen and freaked out and went to Vail two weeks ago during Valentines day. GF wasn't thrilled.

Anyway, if you'd like to take a run with the old duderino click on the vid below.

This is my first time skiing this mountain and I'm without a guide so I am being a bit cautious with the skiing as you never know what dangerous obstacles lie beyond the next ridge...

Finally making my first trip of the season this weekend. Big Bear. Should be fun. We'll probably stay on Bear Mountain the whole day, since IIRC Snow Summit is more park stuff..

We had our annual ski trip this weekend, everyone came out Thursday we skied and drank hard Friday and Saturday, everyone went home today.

2 days, 43 runs, 62,350 feet of vertical! (33+k the first day 28+K the second)

The video is a bit choppy, I was skiing down with my ski poles in one hand while holding/aiming/recording with a point and shoot camera in the other. My wife is in black with a white helmet, my best friend is in black with plaid patterned helmet and a backpack, and my buddy was in the gray coat blue pants. I gave him a great face shot right around 30 seconds in or so lol.

Anyone in Philly know a decent shop to take my skis to get repaired? Need some base repairs and a good wax. I want to ski this winter.

Or, anyone have a good how-to for ski waxing?

Blue if I don't feel like driving.
Elk or Camelback if I do feel like driving.

They'll all do it at the mountain but they usually just run it through their crappy auto waxer thing and it takes a while. Blue is especially bad for waxing. They did a shit job last time I had them do it.

Nice, everything is about an hour and fifteen or so away from me but I love skiing at Blue.

Should be able to find a decent DIY on the youtube's for waxing. Need some scrapers and an iron you don't mind getting waxed up.
