:fuckyeah:

Time to teach you Mercer boys how to climb.
Climbing? Something I can do better than fled.
It'll be a good challenge for everyone - the loop is about 17 miles, but half of that will be social cruising back to the lot via the canal path on the flat.

Should be a good ride. Weather looks to be :notbad: so far.

Also, here's the route we'd follow on Saturday, except we'd start at the intersection of Church and Brick yard instead of PA side of Wash Xing: https://www.strava.com/activities/429068314

Dang this looks awesome...

Lots of good reviews on this bike. 120mm Fox 34 up front with the Fit4 damper, XT drivetrain, carbon frame with the Orbea-like flexing seat stays, and about 27 lbs. Downside is only 100mm rear travel which kind of sucks and only 3 year warranty on carbon frames. :flaccid:

But. Slack geometry like the Process 111 but should climb better and is about 3-4 lbs lighter. Looks killer.

mmm.

That seems like the kind of bike that would kill it in Indiana. What I've ridden so far, the trails are pretty technical with switchbacks everywhere, but we also have some random big obstacles and the occasional steep descents. You sort of need a bike that can do everything - pedal efficiently to maintain speed between more difficult sections, handle tight switchbacks, but be capable of handling itself on a big descent.

A bike like that should be able to do handle any descents around here while still being quick in the more cross country sections. I'll still get a nicer hardtail to start, but something like that in a couple years would be :dong: .

Fuck, that's a good looking bike... if it was 120mm rear travel I think it'd be just about perfect. I think that's the sweet spot for the east coast. 140mm is a little overkill for me, but if I ever take the Orbea to Mountain Creek or something it should be pretty well at home.

Honestly this and the Occam seem pretty similar, the difference being the Hei Hei loses out on a :jalepenis: of travel and has less of a warranty.

My bike lists at $4199 with an SLX crankset, XT drivetrain and a 34 FitGrip fork and a lifetime warranty.

I'd be very hesitant to drop coin on a carbon bike with a 3 year warranty. I'd look for at least 5 years if not lifetime.

Yep the Orbea is the better buy overall.

I can't justify the scratch for XTR when XT is pretty much the same tech just slightly heavier.

SLX is the true value play with the exception of cassettes. Usually the XT cassette and chain is where your money is best spent. Above SLX level you're getting a really minor improvement for a lot more $$

:gtfo: (but I agree on the brakes)

Horsethief's major issue is the stupid 3 year warranty.
