OT 13: Our Lady of Blessed Acceleration

I go to Asheville starting this weekend :millennial: In 4 hipster beers and avocado toast. Maybe I'll find a bike shop that stocks bikes. How long are you staying?? I'll be there the 20th with Allison and a couple friends from college who are coming down from CT. Let me know if you have any NC moun...

OT 13: Our Lady of Blessed Acceleration

Now is a terrible time for the "I hate my job and want to do something new" bug to come fluttering back with the mortgage and whatnot. I would love to look for a new gig, even if it's something similar to what I'm doing now, but in a new environment, just to get some change. But I don't fe...

It sounds like there's some sort of witchcraft going on in the office near my desk. I hear a bunch of screaming followed by a bunch of muttering and chanting through the woman's speakerphone.

DYELB: The Gainz Train

My wife and I went through our budget and sit aside some "gym equipment" money. Budgeting for $20/mo so I can keep improving my setup. That said, first purchase is a rower. It's due in right before our honeymoon trip, so that'll be a nice tease. DEFINITELY going to put this to good use fo...

I think open shelving looks great, but the practical use of it, particularly around the stove, is one of those situations where the cons outweigh the pros, IMO. Also, we ran a cycle of Affresh the other day with only a slight improvement. The bottom rack was cleaning better, but the top still wasn't...

I hope that's not the case. I'm hoping to avoid adding a dishwasher to the list of upcoming expenses.

Top rack of the dishwasher isn't havin' it. I read up online about poking out the holes in the arms and then soaking the full arms in vinegar to beat any buildup. Anyone here have any luck cleaning them before? Could probably try CLR, too. https://i5.walmartimages.com/asr/c1a7873c-3249-4dfd-8418-c0...

I'm liking my job less and less. The problem with looking elsewhere is I don't know where I'd start, given that I've held vastly different roles over the last few years due to the nature of this program. I don't particularly specialize in anything that I could jump ship at the same or higher salary...

Wifey and I were talking about cooking last night after we finished dinner. I'd like to do more cooking, but our kitchen layout/space is not conducive to 2 people working in there at once. Hopefully the next place will have a better kitchen and we can cook together more. That was one thing we looke...

What's the goal of pre-exhaustion? Make lighter weight feel heavier. Burn out your quads first and then you can go lighter and not worry about your back giving out before your quads. Or do it with chest and hit some flyes for. Afew sets before benching and then when you bench your chest will actual...

I got back over a couple numbers yesterday for leg day. Back over 800 ft climbed on my incline treadmill warmup. Back over 300 for squats. Sent from the Beer Depository Pre-exhausting my quads and hammies before squatting has sucked. My knees feel better, but only hitting 245 for sets of 6-10 is a ...

2/3 of the way through the 7th of the series. 5 and 6 were fantastic. This one is really good as well - closing up loops and explaining a bunch of stuff.

Homebrewing Thread aka make your own beerz

Reading up on this, albeit lightly so far, really has me interested in starting. I think it'd be a wonderful future if I could open a craft brewery and gym in the same building LOL (though obviously separate entities). Who knows, maybe the home brewing and home gymming could lead to that!

Oh dang. All good info. I honestly don't know anything about it yet so I don't even know what questions to ask. I'll have to read up on it a bit later on to see if it's something I truly want to undertake.

Homebrewing Thread aka make your own beerz

As someone who is interested in getting into home brewing after visiting a small brewery on our mini vacation over the weekend, what sort of monetary, space, and time commitments would I be looking at? Do I need extra ventilation, etc? I'd likely set it up in our unfinished basement since we don't h...
